Your logo and QR codes

This page explains, in plain words, the two things Print & QR builds everything from: your brand kit and your QR codes. For step-by-step help with the screens, see Print & QR and Designing in Card Studio.

Your brand kit is your logo, your brand colours, your font and your initials, saved on your site in Insights. We set it up for you from your website.

Every template in Card Studio and every quick card starts from it, so a new business card already has your logo, colours and website on it. You can still change anything on a single card without changing the kit.

To change the kit itself, for example after a new logo, email support@webfacemedia.com with the new file.

Printers need a sharp logo. How sharp it comes out depends on the kind of file.

File How it prints
SVG or PDF The best choice. These files are drawn with lines and shapes rather than dots, so they stay sharp at any size, from a business card to a sign.
PNG or JPG These are pictures made of dots. They print well small, but can look soft or blocky when printed large.

Your brand kit uses an SVG of your logo wherever we have one.

To check a logo before you print, open Tools → Logo check on the Print & QR page and pick the size it will be printed at. You get one of three answers:

  • Ready to print: send it.
  • Printable, with things to know: it will print, but read the notes, for example a picture that may look soft at a large size.
  • Not ready to print yet: something will go wrong, for example a logo the same colour as the paper. Ask us and we will help.

A QR code from Print & QR does not go straight to your website. It goes to a short address first, which counts the scan, then sends the person on to the page you chose. That is what makes two things possible:

  • You can see how many people scanned it. Scans show on the Print & QR page for the last 7 days, the last 30 days and all time, and in your Monday email.
  • You can change where it goes after it is printed. Choose change next to the code and pick a new page. The printed code stays the same, so cards you already handed out send people to the new page.

Most sites have a QR address on their domain, for example qr.yourbusiness.com. When someone points their phone camera at your code, the phone shows that address before they open it, so they see your name. If your site does not have one yet, codes use onscan.co. Both work the same way. To set up yours, email support@webfacemedia.com.

If someone types your QR address without the rest of the code, it opens your website.

  • Download a code as SVG or PDF for print. They stay sharp at any size.
  • Hide takes a code off your list. A printed code you hide still works.
  • Test a code with your phone before a big print run.
  • Contact card codes save a person’s name, phone and email to the phone’s contacts when scanned.

Everyone on your team can design cards, download print files, check logos and make QR codes. Only Admins can email a proof or send a card to the printer. See Who can send.

Email support@webfacemedia.com or call 647.286.5045, and tell us which card or code it is. If it is about a logo, attach the file.
